[0001] [001]. The present invention relates to a bicycle saddle according to the general part of claim 1. Description of the state of the art
[0002] [002]. The saddle according to the invention is a development of the saddles described in Italian patent applications VI2003A000020 (corresponding to patent document WO 2004/069636 Al) and VI2004A000204 (corresponding to patent document WO2006 / 015731), invented by the same inventor of the present patent application. Patent application No. VI2004A000202 (corresponding to patent application WO2006 / 013063), which specifically refers to a fork for supporting the bicycle seat body, is also cited.
[0003] [003]. The objects described in the aforementioned documents were extended as patents worldwide, being approved in the merit exams for granting patents for them, particularly at the European patent level, in the USA and China. The saddles described in these documents were actually manufactured and sold in high numbers; such saddles have become very popular, both among professional cyclists and among amateur cyclists, since such saddles are capable of overcoming and eliminating most of the seat problems seen in similar saddles of the known type.
[0004] [004]. In particular, such saddles were subjected to a rigorous medical test that made comparisons with a saddle of the known type (with a straight tip and without an open central channel), particularly to establish the difference between genital-perineum blood perfusion when the rider is seated on the saddle and pedal and normal resting conditions. Particularly, this test revealed that with the saddles described above, blood perfusion reached 80% in relation to resting conditions, compared to the 20% drop, observed with saddles of the known type. This test was carried out in 2005 by Guleimo Breda, from the Urology Department of Ospedale San Bassiano de Bassano del Grappa (VI) and was validated by the article published in the Boston Journal of Sexual Medicine, by the renowned American urologist Dr. Irvin Goldstein (see http : //www.blacksynergy.eom/toc/jsm/2/).
[0005] [005]. As evidence, reference is made to the medical tests carried out by Dr. Ulrich Swarzer of the Department of Urology at the University of Cologne (Germany, 2002) and by Dr. Goldstein, in October 1996 (156 (4): 1320-9).
[0006] [006]. In particular, thousands of cyclists who used such saddles, fully confirmed the results of the medical tests referred to above, i.e. that they did not feel the pressure of the structures on the perineum pavement; moreover, after long hours in the saddle, cyclists did not experience temporary prostatic congestion and they observed that the hematoma on the hip bone was practically null, which is usually observed when using other saddles of the known type during the same period of time. Objectives of the invention
[0007] [007]. The object of the present invention is to provide a saddle, which, as the closest state of the art refers to that of the saddles previously described, which allows a better possibility of use and better results in use in relation to such saddles.
[0008] [008]. This is achieved by means of a saddle obtained according to the characterizing part of claim 1. Brief description of the drawings
[0009] [009]. The present invention will be described in detail below, with reference to some specific embodiments thereof, provided by way of example of a non-restrictive character, with reference to the attached drawings, where: Figure 1 (table I) represents a perspective view of the saddle according to the invention, provided with its external lining; Figure 2 (table II) represents a perspective view of the support body, before the seat upholstery according to the invention; Figure 3 (table III) represents a perspective view of the part underlying the seat upholstery according to the invention that is glued to the body of the aforementioned seat; Figures 4, 5 and 6 (bees IV-VI) respectively represent an exploded perspective view, a longitudinal section and a cross section (with dissection of the cyclist's gluteus muscles) of the saddle described in patent document VI2004A000204; Figure 7 (table VII) illustrates a longitudinal section of the saddle according to the invention; Figure 8 (table VIII) represents a cross section of the saddle according to the invention, where the support of the cyclist's pubic part is also shown schematically; Figure 9 (table IX) represents another cross section of the saddle according to the invention, in the area where the cyclist's ischial tuberosity is supported; Figure 10 (table X) represents a perspective view of the lower surface of the seat body according to the invention as well as the support fork of this and the other members that allow the attachment of the above to said body; Figure 11 (table XI) illustrates a longitudinal section of the centerline of the seat according to the invention in the area where the support fork of the seat body occurs; Figure 12 (table XII) illustrates a cross-sectional view of the dissection of the structures of the perineum pavement, highlighting the perimeter of the saddle and the central channel where it is located.
[0010] [0010]. Particularly in this figure, as in the others previously indicated, anatomical organs of the cyclist are presented and identified by the following references: a - tailbone b - anus c - gluteal muscles d - ischial tuberosity e - perimeter of the seat according to the invention f - pudendal artery g - penis body h - deep dorsal artery of the penis i - deep dorsal vein of the penis l - penis m - pubic arch n - testicles q - prostate Detailed description of the invention
[0011] [0011]. Before beginning the description of the saddle according to the invention, the characteristics of the saddle described in patent application No. VI2004A000204 will be highlighted below, followed by a more detailed description of the characteristics of the saddle according to the invention with reference to the most advanced state. close to the technique.
[0012] [0012]. Figures 4 and 5 show that such a saddle of the known type has two identical portions, arranged symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the saddle, and said portions are separated, at the rear of it through an entrance 4 in the shape of basically a tail. -swallow. Therefore, these portions are mutually connected by a depression 11, after which a hole 5 in the form of an open channel is provided from top to bottom.
[0013] [0013]. Inlet 4, depression 11 and channel 5 are arranged on the median longitudinal axis of the saddle, with the channel gradually narrowing in width, going from the rear of the saddle to the front of the saddle. In addition, it is envisaged that the channel will be delimited by two portions 8, 9, which are mutually connected and inclined in such a way that a curved configuration 10 occurs in relation to the front end of the saddle. In these figures, the same reference numbers with identical elements are used, which will also be used for the saddle according to the invention in order to position the common parts between the two saddles in direct relation.
[0014] [0014]. In this saddle of the known type, the upholstery is made of foamed polymer, with a thickness equivalent to 8-12 mm and is arranged on the entire surface where the gluteal muscles, the ischial tuberosities and the pubic arch rest. The upholstery is glued to the body and in general it is covered with a superior quality leather. Looking carefully at figure 6, we can see that the gluteal muscles made of muscle fibers that alone are capable of maintaining a rigid seat, rest on the upholstery thus allowing said muscles, even when moving on an irregular surface, not always touching the rigid surface underlying the body.
[0015] [0015]. However, at the same time, due to the pressure of the upholstery, the cyclist must find a slight roughness at the base, said gluteal muscles are lowered towards the ischial tuberosities that are constituted of a bone covered by a membrane, increasing the compression of such tuberosities on the upholstery on which they rest, until they touch the surface of the underlying body made of a rigid plastic material. Due to this fact, the cyclist in each roughness of the road surface feels an uncomfortable contusion at the point where the ischial tuberosities rest. The pubic arch, which rests on the front of the saddle illustrated in figure 5, is also made of bones covered by a membrane and is pressed by the weight of the cyclist's body bust when he rests on the handlebars; in general, the upholstery arranged in the front areas of the saddle is not able to prevent the latter from touching the underlying body, thus causing the cyclist to suffer an inevitable injury.
[0016] [0016]. The first object of the present invention is to provide a saddle capable of overcoming the disadvantages described above, allowing the cyclist to cycle even for hours both during training and running without being exposed to any injury.
[0017] [0017]. Another object of the invention is to provide a saddle with a more aggressive and elegant structure in relation to the saddle of the previously mentioned known type, obtaining improvements in terms of design as well.
[0018] [0018]. Finally, another object of the invention is to improve the system for fixing the support fork to the body present in the saddle according to the invention with respect to the fork described in the aforementioned patent document.
[0019] [0019]. Figure 1 shows that the saddle 1 according to the invention has two equal portions 2, 3, arranged symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the saddle, which are separated at the front of the saddle through an entrance 4 in a basically tail shape. - swallow and therefore connected to each other by a depression 11, after which a hole 5 in the form of an open channel is provided from top to bottom, with the inlet 4, the depression 11 and the channel 5 being arranged on the median longitudinal axis of the saddle. Also in the saddle according to the invention, as in the saddle described above, the channel gradually narrows in width, going from the rear to the front of the saddle; furthermore, the channel is delimited by two portions 8, 9, which are mutually connected and are inclined so as to adopt a curved shape at the front end 10 of the saddle. According to the invention, areas 14, 16 of the saddle designed to support the gluteus muscles of the cyclist and arranged at the rear are expected to have an upward convexity and they are inclined with respect to the horizontal line, under conditions of normal use of the saddle, at approximately 5 ° -10 °. Such areas 14, 16 proceed with two other areas 13, 15 which have considerable upholstery with a thickness of approximately 10-15 mm, which has an upward convexity. Figure 9 shows that, as observed specifically in Figure 9, these areas have an inclination with respect to the horizontal line by approximately 30 ° -45 ° to rest the inner part of the ischial tuberosities. Such areas 13, 15 are connected to each other with one of the narrow portions 8, 9 that delimit channel 5. Such portions 8, 9 continue with other areas 43, 45 which, as can be seen specifically in figure 7, are angled upwards in approximately 5 ° -10 °. Such areas 43, 45 are thus joined at the end 10 in a semicircular shape determining the curved structure that delimits the saddle at the front. Such a structure is inclined downwards by approximately 30 ° -60 ° still according to the invention, the seat upholstery 30 is made of a plastic material, in particular, soft foamed elastomeric polyurethane. Such upholstery covers the entire body 12 of the above with a thickness 20, which - in areas 14, 16 designed to support the cyclist's gluteal muscles - is approximately 3-5 mm, while in areas 13, 15, it has a thickness approximately 10-15 mm. As shown in figure 2, which should be taken into account, it illustrates the body of the saddle, the concave-shaped areas 17, 19 are illustrated which are arranged under the areas 13, 15 and have a depth of 10 mm in the central part of these. Such areas 17, 19 are inclined at approximately 30 ° -45 ° with respect to the horizontal direction. Vice versa in portions 8, 9, the thickness 20 of the upholstery is again approximately 3-5 mm, while the areas 43, 45 underlying the body 21,23 are lower than 5-7 mm in relation to portions 8, 9, so the thickness of the upholstery is approximately 10-12 mm. When looking at figures 2 and 3 we will see that in areas 21, 23, at the bottom of the upholstery 20, cavities 47, 48 are also provided in which shock absorbers 44, 46 are inserted, advantageously made of soft compact polyurethane with hardness 16-25. Such dampers are designed to be positioned on the underside of this precisely above areas 21, 23 and the presence of these prevents the cyclist's pubic arch from touching the rigid surface of the body 12 made of a rigid plastic material advantageously made of Nylon® and fiber carbon).
[0020] [0020]. The parts of the body corresponding to portions 8, 9, as well as areas 21, 23, which are arranged adjacent to the central channel, are also expected to decline perpendicularly to the outer part of the channel, while they decline internally with an inclination equivalent to approximately 78 ° with an inverted U-shape. When looking at figures 10 and 11, on the lower surface of the saddle (in practice of its body), a support fork 50 is provided, which has a pair of substantially parallel longitudinal members 51, 52. Each of them is arranged below the frontal portions of the saddle, which are arranged adjacent to the central channel 5 and at the ends of this 53, 54, in the shape of -S- and can be inserted in cylindrical seats 35, 36, arranged below the body of the saddle, close to the area in shape of curved. Vice versa transverse portions 55, 56, arranged at the rear with respect to the longitudinal members 51, 52, are designed to be inserted in impressions 40 obtained in structures in the shape of cobblestone 37, 38 with height equivalent to the diameter of the support fork. Such structures are obtained on the lower surface of the rear of the saddle; they have on the front a flat top surface 31, 32, each of which has two holes for the insertion of fixing screws. In addition, on the opposite side to the one in which the holes are present, they have two 45 ° inclined edges joined by projections 39 and underlying recesses. In addition, closing covers 42 are provided with a parallelepiped shape equal to the upper surface of the structures 37, 38, each having - on the front - two holes for inserting concealable elements while on the rear, on the underlying part they have a projection 41 and a recession equal to and contrary to those of structures 37,38. In particular, it is anticipated that after inserting the ends 53, 54 of the tubular elements into seats 35, 36, as well as after resting the fork portion 55, 56 on the impressions 40, the covers 42 (fig. 1 1) are resting on the upper body surface, thus sliding sandwich structures 37, 38 over it so that the same or different shapes of the projections and recesses match perfectly in relation to each other; finally, it is envisaged that the final fixation will be completed by inserting two pairs of fixing screws, which support the support fork firmly supported on the impressions 40 previously made on the body.
[0021] [0021]. Finally, it can be envisaged that the two covers 42 are mutually connected through a transverse structure 57, on which signs, designs and the like can be printed specifically by the manufacturer and the seller of the saddle.
